The Hamsa and the Good Fortune Tee

The Hamsa is a multicultural symbol of protection and good fortune. Why would someone put it on a golf shirt?

Golf is hard and the human brain can treat stress as danger. The nervous system subconsciously decides if a situation is safe, dangerous or life-threatening.

Sports psychologists describe two mindsets under pressure: a challenge state and a threat state. People are able to step up and perform effectively in a challenge state of mind. In a threat state of mind, the demands of the moment feel bigger than your ability to perform.

The Hamsa is there to remind you that you’re safe. And not only are you safe, good luck is on your side. Every great round relies on a little bit of good luck.

Get into your challenge state of mind. You’re going to be okay no matter what. Might as well be the best version of you.
